My business interests include: construction, building, plumbing, PPE, workwear, information technology, design, print, repro, media and PR. I’m the Managing Director of the OBAS Group. OBAS was always going to be a challenge. We set out to save four failed businesses and the 30 jobs associated with them. We created a unified organisation, by revolutionising the operation and developed it to become a multi-million pound turnover enterprise employing 45 people, with clearly defined opportunities for growth and employment.
During my business life, I’ve provided consultancy and other business services across Europe, working with a variety of clients, including many large conglomerates and blue chip companies. Over 29 years of experience within the IT, design, repro, media and print industries has lead me to develop a range of core skills including strategic innovation, people development and leadership, transition management and financial planning and modelling. This experience has developed in start-ups, acquisitions, mergers, restructuring and more generally in running companies., giving me invaluable insights when navigating OBAS through the recent financial climate.
Over the years I’ve been fortunate enough to be recognised by my peers in the business community, gaining a large number of awards, both for myself and for the organisations I’ve worked with. Ultimately, I’m keen to give back to the community by supporting education and businesses, as well as by mentoring entrepreneurs. Currently my appointments include being a non-executive director and President of the North and West Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, a member of the North West Bank of England Advisory Committee, Chair of the NWLCC Remuneration Committee, chair of the Lancashire Business Finance Forum, a member of the Longridge Town Development Committee, an Entrepreneur in Residence at Lancaster University.
